LG CNS announced on Tuesday that it is joining forces with Google Cloud to accelerate cloud-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation services across the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas.

According to the South Korean IT solutions provider, LG CNS, CEO, Hyun Shin-Gyoon recently met with Google Cloud, CEO, Thomas Kurian and Karan Bajwa, Managing Director of Google Cloud Asia-Pacific, during Google Cloud Next 2025 in Las Vegas to strengthen the strategic collaboration between the two companies.

Through this partnership, LG CNS and Google Cloud will work together across various industries to advance AI transformation. LG CNS plans to leverage its expertise in cloud, AI technologies, and IT services alongside Google Cloud's generative AI capabilities and cloud solutions to help enterprise clients in these regions implement comprehensive AI strategies.

“LG CNS is an AX (AI transformation) specialist with generative AI capabilities across multiple business domains,” Hyun said. “We plan to expand our AX business into the Asia-Pacific and the Americas through our collaboration with Google Cloud and aim to become a top player in the health care and bio AX markets as well.”

The companies will utilize Google’s AI model, Gemini, and its enterprise AI platform, Vertex AI, to develop hundreds of Generative AI services tailored for sectors including manufacturing, finance, retail, telecommunications, and public services.

A significant focus of the collaboration will be the rapidly growing healthcare and biopharmaceutical industries. LG CNS aims to develop AI agents that assist researchers in analyzing pharmaceutical data, as well as solutions for genome data interpretation and protein structure prediction to support drug discovery efforts.

The Bioeconomy Research Center of the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization projects that the global digital healthcare market will expand at an annual rate of over 20 percent, reaching approximately 2,400 trillion won ($1.69 trillion) by 2033.

“Google Cloud offers the most open cloud in the industry and is committed to accelerating our customers’ digital transformation,” Google Cloud, Korea Country Director, Chi Ki-sung said. “Through our AI-enhanced partnership, LG CNS will be able to develop new capabilities to improve operations and create real value in the healthcare sector using Google Cloud infrastructure.”
